Athletistic / Football. Journalist and author of the telegram channel “KB Telega”, dedicated to Moscow “Spartak”, Maxim Nikitin explained why Zenit has not yet formalized the transfer of the red-and-white striker Alexander Sobolev.
“It is important not to forget that there are different people at Zenit – some want to buy Sobolev, and others do not. Semak and Pogorelov want to see Alexander, but Medvedev’s team is not eager to buy him too. I don’t want to – I don’t know to what extent he participates in these processes, and the St. Petersburg fans don’t want to.
“The situation is twofold, and that is why Zenit’s offer is now so low. As a club, Zenit is not particularly interested in Alexander. Some officials want to see Alexander, but others do not – disagreements remain,” Nikitin said in an interview with Championship.
Zenit now has two strikers in its squad: Mateo Cassierra and Ivan Sergeev. Pedro and Maxim Glushenkov can be considered the nominal striker. However, the blue-white-blues want to strengthen the attacking line with another player.
Alexander Sobolev has been playing for Spartak since January 2020. His contract with the red and whites runs until June 30, 2026.
