Kyivians will play a return match with Partizan today
Winger of the capital Dynamo Andrey Yarmolenko commented on the upcoming return match with Partisan in the second qualifying round Champions League 2024/25.
“We are professionals. We know that the team that wins the matchup on aggregate will advance. That is why we are preparing for a serious game. It is good that we achieved such a result in the first match, but [сегодня] it will be a completely different game.”
“Of course, I would like to thank our fans, the Ukrainians, who came to this match and supported us. But I would not like to talk about the first match now, because it is already history, and we need to prepare for the upcoming match as if it were only the first game in the confrontation. We need to forget this result and go out to show good football and achieve results.”
Dynamo has already arrived in Belgrade for the return match with Partizan. In total, the coach of the white-blues, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy, included 27 football players in the delegation for the match, including Taras Mikhavko and Matvey Ponomarenko, who played for the Ukrainian U-19 team at the 2024 European Youth Championship.
Dynamo defeated Partizan in the first match of the second qualifying round of the Champions League (6:2). Before the match, which took place in Lublin, Poland, the Kiev team refused all official events with the Serbian club, which had previously traveled to the “brotherly” tournament in Moscow.
The return match will take place tomorrow, July 31. The game will start at 21:00 Kyiv time. The match at the Partizan Arena will be held without spectators. The Romanian referee team headed by Marian Barbu will referee the match.
Dynamo’s next opponent in the League Path could be Scottish Rangers. The Kievans will play in the third qualifying round if they do not allow Partizan to perform a miracle in Belgrade.
