UEFA punished Cherchesov’s Ferencvaros for the behavior of fans during Champions League matches

Union of European Football Associations (UEFA ) punished the Hungarian “Ferencvaros “for the behavior of the fans during the matches of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League with the “Slovan” from Bratislava.

A club whose head coach is a Russian Stanislav Cherchesov , was fined 79,000 euros for displaying racism from supporters, throwing foreign objects, using pyrotechnics and blocking aisles. In addition, Ferencváros has been sanctioned with a partial grandstand closure (at least 1,000 seats) for a home game in European competition, and will not be able to sell tickets to its supporters for the next away game.

Within 30 days, the Hungarian club’s representatives are required to compensate Slovan for 20 broken seats, as well as hang a “No to racism” banner for the next home fixture in European competition.

Ferencvaros beat Slovan 5:3 (1:2, 4:1) on aggregate and advanced to the Champions League third qualifying round, where Azerbaijani Qarabag became their opponent.
