The event will be dedicated to the recent performances of the national and youth teams of Ukraine at the European Championships
Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) officially announced that a press conference of the head coach of the Ukrainian national team will be held on August 5 at the capital’s Football House Sergei Rebrov and the head coach of the Ukrainian youth team Unai Melgosa.
The event will be dedicated to the performances of Ukrainian football teams of different ages at the European Championships, as well as the plans and objectives of the national teams for the next season.
The press conference is scheduled to begin at 13:00. Accreditation for journalists will end on the same day at 10:00; media representatives can obtain it link.
Let us recall that the national team led by Rebrov failed to advance from the group at Euro 2024, finishing fourth in Group E. All four teams scored four points, but the blue-yellows closed the quartet table based on additional indicators.
The Ukrainian U-19 team reached the semi-finals of the 2024 European Youth Championship, where they lost to France with a minimal score (0:1). Thanks to this result, Dmytro Mykhailenko’s team qualified for the 2025 U-20 World Championship.
In turn, the U-17 team led by Yuri Moroz took part in the final part of the European Championship in its age category. The result of the performances: a victory and two defeats, elimination after the group stage.
In addition, the Ukrainian Olympic team (head coach Ruslan Rotan) scored only three points in the group stage of the 2024 Olympic Games football tournament in Paris, beating Morocco (2:1) and losing to Iraq (1:2) and Argentina (0:2).
The youth team (U-21) under the leadership of Melgosa won six out of six matches in the qualification for the European Youth Championship-2025. Having scored 18 points, the blue-yellows confidently lead Group F. Melgosa’s team will play the next matches in the qualification for the European Championship-2025 (U-21) in September. The blue-yellows will play against their peers from Serbia and Northern Ireland.
