He passed away at the age of 60 Craig-Shakespeareex-mentor Lesterwho managed to work as an assistant coach in various clubs, as well as the England national team.
Last October, it was reported that the English specialist had been diagnosed with cancer.
Shakespeare worked on the Leicester coaching staff from 2008 to 2017 (with breaks), was an assistant to Claudio Ranieri and Nigel Pearson. Together with the Foxes, he won the sensational championship in 2016. From February to October 2017, Craig held the post of head coach of Leicester.
His CV also includes assistant coaching stints at West Bromwich Albion, Hull City, Everton, Watford, Aston Villa and Norwich, as well as a brief spell with the England national team in 2016. Shakespeare briefly rejoined Leicester’s coaching staff at the end of the 2022/23 season.
Let us recall that following the results of that season, the Foxes left the elite division, but during Shakespeare’s life they managed to return to the Premier League. In the first round of the new season, Leicester will host Tottenham on August 19.
