Juventude fell behind on the scoreboard against Fluminense in the Copa do Brasil, but managed to recover and win in the first leg of the round of 16; see

This Thursday, the 1st, the Youth triumphed before the Fluminense in the round of 16 Brazil’s Cup. In the first leg, at Alfredo Jaconi, the home team recovered from the partial setback and scored 3-2 to take the lead over Tricolor. After the duel, the coach Jair Ventura praised the cast’s achievement.

“I think 80% of teams that score the first goal go on to win. That wasn’t the case today with Fluminense. We conceded a goal very early, but we had the strength to react, the confidence, the personality to put the ball on the ground, play, work the ball and we managed to get an important victory. A victory that doesn’t guarantee us qualification.”he nailed.

“It’s worth remembering that we faced the current champion of America. A team that had gone three games without conceding a goal. So, we managed to score three goals against a team that doesn’t concede a goal, and three consecutive victories. We weren’t at our best. But who knows, this game could be a turning point for us to get back on the winning track and take Juventude as far as possible in all the competitions we still have to play in.”
