Personal locker Kobe Bryant from the locker room Los Angeles Lakers was sold at Sotheby’s auction for $2.88 million.
The preliminary cost of this memorable item was estimated at one to one and a half million. The lot was put up for sale at $750,000 and after a fierce fight was sold for the above-mentioned amount. The winner of the auction beat 17 competitors with his offer.
The great Bryant used this locker from 2003 to 2016, until the end of his professional career.
Recall that in January 2020, NBA legend and one of the most outstanding players in basketball history, 41-year-old Kobe Bryant died in a helicopter crash. Bryant is survived by his wife and three children. Kobe’s daughter Gianna Maria died along with her father.
Bryant is a five-time NBA champion and a two-time Finals MVP. The guard was an 18-time NBA All-Star and an 11-time All-NBA First Team selection.
The shooting guard played 20 seasons for the Lakers. The two-time Olympic champion played 1,346 games in the regular season and averaged 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
