Shakhtar thanked its ultras who defended Ukraine in the war with Russia

The club presented gifts to the fighters, as well as to the families of the dead and those who are in captivity

Miner issued a statement expressing gratitude to his fans and ultraswho – including at the cost of freedom, health and even life – protect Ukraine from Russian invaders.

“Part of our hearts. Thank you for your courage and bravery! Since 2014, more than 100 representatives of the Shakhtar fan movement have participated in the war with Russia. Unfortunately, 9 of our guys died and will never be able to attend Shakhtar matches. Another 12 guys have been in captivity for more than two years.”

“We give these scarves and championship medals to all representatives of Shakhtar ultras who continue to defend Ukraine, to the families of those who died, and to the families of those who are now in captivity, to those who are waiting for their sons, brothers and husbands to come home.”

“Thank you to each of the fighters, thanks to whom we can continue to play football and win another championship. Without your support, we would not be able to continue living in our country and go out on the field. Therefore, we dedicate this 15th championship, like the previous one, to you.”

Let us recall that in May, the Kryvbas football players handed over the bronze medals of the Ukrainian championship to the families of the deceased ultras.

In the early morning hours of February 24, 2022, Russia launched a missile attack and aerial bombardment on most Ukrainian cities, and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia is now in its 891st day.
