Terence took the WBA light middleweight belt from Israel and became champion in the fourth weight class of his career
Former absolute world champion in two weight categories Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KO) won a confident victory on points over the Uzbek boxer Israil Madrimov (10-1-1, 7 KO).
The fight became the main event of a big evening of boxing in Los Angeles.
The opponents did not force the events, they started cautiously. The Uzbek tried to act first number, the American counterattacked effectively. In the ninth round, Madrimov landed several hits, but then Israil clearly got tired and spent the last rounds passively.
The result was a unanimous victory for Crawford: 116-112, 115-113 and 115-113.
Thus, Terence took the WBA title in the first middleweight from his opponent and became a champion in the fourth weight category. Previously, the 36-year-old American owned championship belts in the welterweight, first welterweight and lightweight divisions.
Let us recall that Crawford for quite a long time headed the rating of the best boxers in the world regardless of weight category (P4P) according to the authoritative magazine The Ring, however in recent months Terence has rolled back to third place in this list, losing second place to the Japanese Naoya Inoue, and first place to the Ukrainian champion Alexander Usyk.
