On Olympic Games 2024 the final took place in Men’s 100m dash — An American became the Olympic champion Noah Lyles.
Lyles tied with Jamaican Keishane Thompson at 9.79, so the winner had to be determined by photo finish. Bronze went to another American, Fred Curley, with a result of 9.81.
It should be noted that Noah Lyles became the first US representative since 2004 to win Olympic gold in the men’s 100m. In 2008, 2012 and 2016, Jamaican Usain Bolt became the Olympic champion in this discipline, and in 2020, Italian Marcel Jacobs won gold in Tokyo.
Among women, the Olympic champion in the 100-meter race was Julienne Alfred from Saint Lucia.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competition will feature 329 sets of medals in 32 sports.
