The famous 79-year-old specialist will work for the Romanian national team for the second time in his career.
Mircea Lucescu found a new job. The former head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv has been introduced as the new head coach of the Romanian national team.
The 79-year-old specialist signed a two-year contract.
The experienced specialist replaced Edward Iordanescu in this post, who left the Romanian national team immediately after Euro 2024. We remind you that under the leadership of the latter, the Romanians defeated the national team of Ukraine 3:0 in the European Championship. But the victory was the only one for the Romanians in the tournament and allowed them to advance to the playoffs, while the Ukrainians left the tournament after the group stage.
Let’s remember that Mircea Lucescu has already led the Romanian national team – he worked from 1981 to 1986.
Earlier, Andriy Shevchenko named the main goal of the Ukrainian national team for the future.
