China’s Quan Hongchan Wins 2024 Paris Olympics 10m Diving Championship

At 17 years old, the athlete has already won three gold medals at two Olympics

Quan Hongchan from China won her second gold medal at Olympic Games 2024 In Paris, the 17-year-old athlete showed the best result in the final of the individual women’s competition diving from a 10-meter platform.

Quan showed the best result among all finalists in three of the five attempts. Her final result was 425.60. The Tokyo champion (who was only 14 at the time) was again challenged by her compatriot Yuxi Chen, but again, as in 2021, she settled for silver.

Kim Mi-re from North Korea took third place by a considerable margin.

Let us recall that earlier Quan Hongchan and Yuxi Chen became Olympic champions in Paris in synchronized diving from 10 meters. In that final, Ukrainians Ksenia Bailo and Sofia Lyskun took seventh place, while showing the best result of Ukraine at the Olympic Games in this discipline.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
