The French are ready to pay 3-4 million euros for the goalkeeper of the Argentina Olympic team
Marseilles is actively negotiating with Ajax regarding the transfer of the Argentine goalkeeper Jeronimo Rulli.
It is reported that the Provençals are ready to pay around three to four million euros for the 32-year-old goalkeeper. Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, and Jerónimo himself is interested in the transfer.
Rulli has been playing in Europe for the last 10 years: Real Sociedad, Manchester City, Montpellier, Villarreal. In January 2023, the Argentine moved to Ajax. Last season, he played only eight matches for the Amsterdammers (three clean sheets), conceding 12 goals. Jeronimo missed a significant part of the season due to injury.
In the summer, Rulli became one of three players over 23 years old in the Argentina Olympic team. He played all four Albiceleste matches at the 2024 Olympics without substitutions, including against the Ukrainian team (2:0). In the quarterfinals, Argentina was eliminated by France (0:1). Before that, Rulli, as a reserve goalkeeper, managed to win the 2024 Copa America.
Marseille finished eighth in Ligue 1 at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The Provencal team, which was taken over by former Shakhtar coach Roberto De Zerbi in the summer, will open the new season in the French championship with a match against Brest.
