Environmental activists destroy Messi’s mansion

The house of the Argentine star on the island of Ibiza was destroyed by inappropriate people.

Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has seen his €11 million Ibiza mansion vandalized by environmental activist group Futuro Vegetal, Goal reports.

Activists stormed Messi’s villa last week and painted it red and black. They had the idea to share photos of their act of vandalism on social networks.

In some photos, two members of the group can be seen holding a banner that reads “Help the planet, eat the rich, get rid of the police,” trying to denounce government policies they believe are worsening the climate crisis.

Futuro Vegetal explained their inappropriate actions this way.

“We photographed Messi’s illegal mansion in Ibiza. The mansion is an illegal structure that the footballer bought for a whopping 11 million euros.

As it happens, in the Balearic Islands alone, two to four people die from the extreme heat. The richest 1% of the population is responsible for the same amount of carbon emissions as the poorest two-thirds of the population.

This is only possible because the government authorities support a socio-economic system, the functioning of which threatens the lives of people.

While the far right blames migrants for the crisis and is violent towards them, those fighting for a better world understand that the problem is social inequality.

Let’s solve problems at their roots. We need the system to radically change to address the climate crisis,” the statement said.

We add that in 2022, Lionel Messi bought a property in San Jose and for many years regularly visited Ibiza with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their three children.

According to the source, the Argentine has yet to respond to the raid on his Spanish property, but the news will surely leave him in shock ahead of his return to Inter Miami.
