50-year-old Irish specialist Lee Carsley will work with the national team on a temporary basis.

The leadership of the Football Association of England continues to search for a new head coach for the national team.

It can be recalled that the position of head coach of the England national team became vacant after Euro 2024, when Gareth Southgate resigned.

However, the search has not yet produced results, and since the “founders of football” are expected to play important matches in the Nations League in September, it was decided to appoint an interim coach.

This is the 50-year-old Irishman Lee Carsley, who previously worked with the England U-21 youth team. It was reported that Carsley was only appointed as interim head coach.

Let’s add that in addition to youth teams in England with different age categories, Carsley worked as an assistant in Coventry, Brentford and Birmingham during his coaching career.
