The 35-year-old midfielder has signed a contract until the end of the 2026 season
Los Angeles Galaxy officially announced the signing of the midfielder Marco Reuswho had previously played for many years Borussia Dortmund.
The 35-year-old German has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, until the end of the 2026 MLS season. Galaxy previously paid FC Charlotte $400,000 for priority on Marco’s contract. The player will be registered for the season immediately after receiving a visa and an international transfer certificate.
The fact that Reus was included in the shortlist of the team from Los Angeles became known more than two months ago, when the midfielder was still formally a player of Borussia D.
Recall that Reus officially announced his departure from the Dortmund club in early May. It was reported that several MLS clubs, as well as Borussia Mönchengladbach, were interested in Marco’s services.
Reus played 42 matches for the Bumblebees in all competitions of the 2023/24 season. Marco scored nine goals and made ten assists.
Borussia D finished fifth in the Bundesliga. In the Champions League final, the Bumblebees lost to Real Madrid (0:2) – this match was Reus’s last in BVB.
The LA Galaxy lead the MLS Western Conference by two points over their neighbors Los Angeles FC and have played two more games. Reus’ new team will next host Atlanta on August 25.
