The Ukrainian winger spent the entire game on the bench
Central match of the 1st round English Premier League between Chelsea And Manchester City ended with a victory for the guests – 0:2.
The champions opened the scoring fairly quickly, with Erling Haaland managing to shield the ball from two defenders and deal with Robert Sanchez in close combat.
The Citizens, in high spirits, created a few more dangerous moments, with Sanchez saving two of them. But Chelsea gradually turned the game around, and there was already some danger at Ederson’s goal. Nicholas Jackson even scored, having managed to finish first, but he did so from a slight offside position.
The second half of the match proceeded with a slight advantage for the hosts. Jackson missed a great opportunity, but did not score from a killer position. In the end, the favorite, having slightly stepped up, nevertheless closed the game in the 84th minute – Mateo Kovacic intercepted, passed and shot from the penalty line. The Croatian, who previously played for Chelsea, did not celebrate the goal.
Ukrainian Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk sat on the bench for the entire game. Christopher Nkunku played in his position (on the left in attack) from the first minutes, and from the 58th minute the most expensive summer newcomer, Pedro Neto, played there.
The Blues travel to Wolverhampton in the second round, while City host Ipswich.
