Harlan presented Metalist 1925 with a sabre that the club purchased at a charity auction

10 million hryvnias, collected together with the Serhiy Prytula Foundation, went towards purchasing automated ShaBlya turrets for the infantry

Paris 2024 Olympic champion in fencing Olga Harlan handed over her winning saber Metalist 1925The club bought the equipment at a charity auction, which was organized jointly with the Serhiy Prytula Foundation.

“Everything came together here. Kharkiv Metalist 1925 bought a saber of a girl from Nikolaev at an auction organized by a guy from the Ternopil region. That is, the east, west and south together, and everything happened in the capital of Ukraine. So everything is cool, and I am very grateful. I hope that this saber will bring success to Metalist 1925,” said Prytula.

Harlan and Prytula also met with players from the men’s and women’s teams of Metalist 1925. Olga received an honorary club jersey with the number “04”.

Let us recall that the sabre with which Harlan won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was sold at auction for 10 million hryvnia. All proceeds will go to the purchase of automated turrets “ShaBlya” for the Ukrainian infantry.

Let us recall that the Ukrainian women’s sabre fencing team won gold medals in the team competition at the 2024 Olympic Games, beating South Korea in the final (45:42). In the decisive match, Olha Kharlan won 8:2 and brought Ukraine its first gold at the Games in Paris.

In addition to Harlan, Alina Komashchuk, Elena Kravatskaya and Yulia Bakastova won gold medals as part of the national team. At the same time, Olga set a new Ukrainian record for the number of medals at the Olympic Games (6), and at the same time broke the record for the longest interval between two Olympic gold medals in fencing (16 years).
