Juan Izquierdo from Uruguayan club Nacional Montevideo died in Brazilian Sao Paulo. The 27-year-old football player did not survive the heart attack that happened to him during the Libertadores Cup match.
Let’s remember that the tragedy happened last Friday, August 23, in the 1/8 finals of the tournament. Izquierdo came on as a substitute early in the second half. However, in the 84th minute the player suddenly lost consciousness.
Doctors rushed to the field and immediately took him to the hospital. The footballer was connected to a ventilator, where he stayed for several days. However, the 27-year-old man could not be saved. Izquierdo is survived by his wife and two children.
