Both Ukrainians took to the field in the starting lineups of their teams
The third round match took place EPL — Everton suffered a defeat at home from Bournemouth (2:3).
While the first half was relatively evenly contested and did not yield any goals, Everton started the second 45 minutes very briskly. They opened the scoring in the 50th minute through Michael Keane, and seven minutes later Dominic Calvert-Lewin doubled the Toffees’ lead.
Bournemouth were losing 0:2 until the 87th minute, but managed to have a spectacular finish. First, Antoine Semenyo scored one goal, and in the second minute of added time, Lewis Cook restored the status quo.
Bournemouth did not stop there and snatched victory in the sixth minute of added time, thanks to a goal from Colombian Luis Sinisterra.
As a result, Everton disappointed again and could not rehabilitate themselves in front of the fans for two disastrous opening rounds of the Premier League. In them, Sean Dyche’s team lost to Brighton at home (0:3), after which they were routed away by Tottenham (0:4).
In today’s match, Ukrainian legionnaires from both teams played the entire 90 minutes – Vitaliy Mykolenko, as usual, started on the left flank of Everton’s defense, and Ilya Zabarnyi – in the center of Bournemouth’s defense.
In the next round, Everton will face Aston Villa away on September 14, while Bournemouth will host Mikhail Mudrik’s Chelsea at home on the same day.
