The Bumblebees spent the last quarter of the match short-handed
Werder And Borussia Dortmund did not score any goals against each other in the second round match of the German Bundesliga — 0:0.
Throughout the match, the hosts, despite their underdog status, did not give in to the famous guests and counterattacked no less sharply. Both opponents created little real danger at the opponents’ goal. The only good moment for Borussia before the break was Julian Brandt, but he shot wide.
In the second half, the fresh Karim Adeyemi and Marcel Sabitzer made dangerous shots, but Michael Zetterer did his job conscientiously.
Midway through the second half, the Bumblebees were left with a man down – Nico Schlotterbeck earned a second yellow card, disrupting Gideon Njinma’s run to his goal.
Despite the numerical advantage, Werder did not have many scoring chances in the end. In one case, Felix Agu was sent out for a shot, but he handled the ball poorly and allowed Gregor Kobel to get ahead of him. Doniel Malen had a chance to respond, but the Dutchman shot straight at the goalkeeper.
Werder has not won yet in the new Bundesliga season, but has not lost either – two points after two rounds. Borussia has two points more.
In the third round, the Musicians will play against Mainz, and Nuri Sahin’s team will host Heidenheim.
