The Ukrainian has yet to score in official matches for Roma
Roma’s mentor Daniele De Rossi believes that the Ukrainian forward To Artem Dovbyk unable to convert their scoring chances due to tight coverage from opponents.
After the game with Juventus (0:0) in the third round of Serie A, De Rossi drew attention to the decision of the Old Lady’s coach Thiago Motta regarding the actions of the defenders in relation to the Ukrainian.
“He worked hard. Look, Thiago Motta left him behind and Bremer and Gatti were marking him. When we had the ball in the last 20 metres, we had to use the wing better and get back into the centre immediately.”
“Then we could put them in a difficult position. Dovbyk will score and will look even stronger when the whole team moves the ball faster,” the coach concluded.
Dovbyk finished all three matches for the Romans without scoring. At the same time, the Ukrainian started all the games.
Roma is in 17th place in the league table with one goal scored and two points. De Rossi’s team will play Genoa on August 15.
