General Manager of Dynamo Pavel Pivovarov In an interview with , he explained why the club is turning to the expert commission on refereeing under the president of the Russian Football Union (ESK RFU), noting that the body must take an impartial approach to assessing controversial episodes in the work of referees.
Previously, General Director of Makhachkala “Dynamo” Shamil Gazizov told that the RFU ESC has completely discredited itself and therefore it is necessary to create a public council under the leadership of the RFU president. Pavel Kamantsev, chairman of the RFU Refereeing Committee and ESC, is not sure, in turn, that the creation of a public refereeing council can bring significant benefits to Russian football.

— We write to understand how our players should play. But we don’t understand. “The situation is borderline”, “the intensity is average”: what do these formulations mean? Nothing is clear. Or the formulation “the attacker was in an unstable position” – but the referee still made a mistake. Why then was he wrong?

— Will clubs insist on disclosing information about how ESC members voted on a particular episode?
— The fundamental point is the independence of the ESC. This is a judicial body under the leadership of the highest leader of the RFU – the president of the football association, and this body must approach the issue impartially and not be involved in protecting the image of judges or representatives of the refereeing service. This is precisely what the formation of the composition of the ESC should aim at. And who voted how – this is their internal regulations.
— Is the ESC an independent body in Russian football today?
– I wish it were so. But we don’t know.
— Are you ready to express your distrust towards Milorad Majic if it benefits our football?
— Last season I repeatedly said that the refereeing was better than the previous season. Now, only a month and a half of the new season has passed. It is too early to draw conclusions. Besides, we have an appointment with Mazhich.
Apparently, they will somehow explain to us the changes in interpretation and the inconsistency that exists, in our opinion. Maybe this is not a sequence at all – we just do not see and do not know something. We want our football to improve and our refereeing to become more objective and predictable. So that we all move in the same direction,” Pivovarov told .
