Athletistic/Football. Former Spartak player Yuri Gavrilov believes that the Moscow club will not lose quality with the departure of striker Alexander Sobolev.

— Sobolev is a tall, physically powerful striker who plays well on the second floor, but otherwise his skills are limited. He lacks dribbling skills and rarely makes assists. For me, this is suitable for teams of the level of Tula Arsenal, Ural, Shinnik or Baltika. Spartak needs players who can decide the moments of the game themselves or effectively help their teammates. If a player just waits for the ball to enter the goal, he can remain that player for a long time. I am not sure that Sobolev will become a significant figure in Zenit. The team has players who create chances and score, ”Gavrilov said in an interview with RB Sport.

Zenit officially announced Sobolev’s transfer on August 30. The 27-year-old forward signed a 3-year contract. Sobolev has been playing for Spartak since 2020, making 140 appearances for the club, during which he has scored 58 goals and provided 32 assists.
