Earlier, Chelsea forward Broja was also dropped from Sylvinho’s team roster
Football Federation of Albania officially announced that the captain of the national team, one of its key players Berat Jimcity suffered an injury which forced him to leave the national team.
Thus, the Atalanta player will not help Sylvinho’s team in the September matches Nations League 2024/25 against Ukraine And Georgia.
The 31-year-old defender suffered a muscle injury during a training match against the Albanian youth team. Ironically, this loss opened the way to the first team roster for a player from that same U-21 team, Adrian Bajrami from Benfica, who was urgently called up by Sylvinho.
Earlier, another key player of the Albanian national team, striker Armando Broja (Everton, on loan from Chelsea), dropped out of the squad. He was replaced in the list of players by Granada forward Mirto Uzuni.
Albania will begin their journey in the new Nations League season on June 7 against Ukraine in Prague (tickets on sale now). Three days later, Sylvinho’s team will host Georgia in Tirana.
The blue-yellows, we recall, will hold both opening matches in Prague. On September 10, the team of Sergei Rebrov will play the Czech Republic at the same stadium “Epet Arena”. Tickets for this match can be purchased on the official website.
In October, Ukraine will play Georgia in Poznan, after which it will play the second match against the Czech Republic in Wroclaw. Ukraine will play the final two rounds of Group B1 of the 2024/2025 Nations League in November of this year.
