Ukrainian focused on Bournemouth performance
Ukrainian defender Bournemouth Ilya Zabarny commented on rumours of interest from other clubs during the summer transfer window.
“There have always been rumours, but I haven’t spoken to agents about it and am focused on playing in Bournemouth. And then we’ll see, I don’t know anything yet,” the footballer said.
In July, it was reported that Arsenal was keeping an eye on the Ukrainian. Tottenham were also interested in the player. Ilya himself extended his contract with Bournemouth until 2029 in the summer.
Ilya was named Bournemouth Player of the Season 2023/24 and nominated for the Premier League All-Star Team. In June, Zabarnyi officially became the media face of the Requiem eSports organization. This season, the Ukrainian has played three matches for the club, playing in the starting lineup in each match without substitutions.
Bournemouth have five points from their opening three Premier League games and will next host Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk’s Chelsea on September 14.
