England beat Ireland in their first match under Carsley

Team England in football beat the Irish team in the first round match of the Nations League group stage.

The League B Group 2 match in Dublin ended 2-0 with goals scored by Declan Rice and Jack Grealish.

The match was England’s first under manager Lee Carsley, who took temporary charge following Gareth Southgate’s departure in the summer.

England will host Finland in their next match of the tournament on September 10, with Ireland playing at home to Greece on the same day.
