Luis de la Fuente’s team were playing with one man down from the 20th minute
IN Geneva the second round match took place League of Nations (League A, Group 4) – Spain won an away victory over Switzerland (2:1).
The scoring was opened in the 4th minute by Joselu, and Spain soon doubled their advantage through Fabian Ruiz.
Trouble came to the European champions in the 20th minute, when centre-back Ruben Le Normand received a direct red card. De la Fuente made adjustments and sent Dani Vivián onto the field in place of Pedri.
Switzerland came back into the game in the 41st minute, with Zeki Amdouni cutting the deficit.
The hero of the second half was Ferran Torres, who came on as a substitute – first he assisted the same Fabian Ruiz (who scored a double), and then scored himself, setting the final score in the match.
As a result, Spain won their first victory in the 2024/25 Nations League (the opening round saw an away draw against Serbia). Switzerland lost both September matches – in the first round they lost 0:2 to Denmark.
