The young midfielder started the current season as a key player for the Catalans
Midfielder Barcelona Marc Bernal successfully underwent knee surgery. The player’s recovery process will take a year, and he is expected to return to the field in September 2025.
Bernal was injured in injury time in the match against Rayo Vallecano (2:1). The midfielder was diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and an accompanying injury to the lateral meniscus.
A product of the Barcelona Academy, he was promoted to the main team from the youth structure in July. Bernal has started three matches for the Catalans in the current La Liga campaign.
Barcelona are the only La Liga team to have won all four of their opening games, leading the table with 12 points. Flick’s men play their next game away to Girona on September 15.
