Unai Melgosa was delighted with the performance of his players against Northern Ireland.

The Ukrainian youth team has completed its main task – qualifying for the 2025 European Championship, and this is the most important result of the team’s work. This is what the head coach of the “blue-yellows”, Unai Melgosa, said at the end of the match against Northern Ireland.

In addition, the specialist praised the actions of his players in the game against the Northern Irish, as a result of which the Ukrainians got a ticket to the final tournament.

“The team won, so in terms of results and points we achieved our goal. At the same time, in the second half we felt a lot of pressure from the Northern Ireland team and lost the initiative and started losing in those duels we were able to hold the victory Unfortunately, we were not able to convert all our chances, but at the same time we gained valuable experience from matches at this level.

However, despite some problems, we were generally better than our opponents. I am happy with my players, and not only Voloshin and Bragar. I don’t want to single out any of the players, because anyone can score in any match. I think they are doing very well for their age. You can’t be relaxed and a little hungry before the game, because you can’t talk about achieving high goals. This also applies to this qualifying tournament – we must not relax. At the same time, we also need to celebrate successes, but we must maintain a balance between emotions and work,” UAF quoted Melgosa as saying.

Let us remind you that the day before the Ukrainian youth team beat Northern Ireland in the city of Ballymina at the Showgrounds stadium.
