Slovak player talks about difficult period in Ukrainian organization
Slovak eSports player Martin “STYKO” Stick told about his period in Monte and cooperation with the Ukrainian organization.
“Monte had even more problems than Apeks. I didn’t think it was possible, but here we are. Another lesson I learned after Monte was that you should always scout the team, and preferably do it with people who are not currently on the team. Monte looked much better individually than Apeks, so I overlooked most of the problems,” Martin said.
“During the break I told the management that I was unhappy in the team and we needed changes, it turned out that every player thought so. So Woro2k moved to the bench.”
“In the new season, Woro2k asked if I wanted to join his team [DRILLAS]. I could have sabotaged Monte and “stealed” their slot in the closed qualifiers for RMR [собрав ядро STYKO, Woro2k и hAdji]“I didn’t like it because I’m under contract with Monte, and as long as I’m under contract with the team, I’ll do everything for its success.”
“Since the beginning of the season I haven’t trained with Monte at all, I’ve only played official matches [ради рейтинга Valve]. KEi replaced me during training.”
STYKO joined Monte in May 2024 and left the team in August. The Slovakian was replaced by Pole Kamil “KEi” Pietkun. The new Monte roster failed to qualify for the RMR tournament for Shanghai Major 2024.
In early September, Monte parted ways with coach Sergey “lmbt” Bezhanov. The vacant position was filled by Polish specialist Piotr “nawrot” Nawrocki.
