The goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team agreed to sign the contract extension in Madrid.
The transfer saga between Andrei Lunin and Real Madrid has officially ended. Real Madrid officially announced a contract extension with the Ukrainian goalkeeper.
The parties agreed on a new multi-year agreement, according to which the 25-year-old goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team will play for the Madrid club until the summer of 2030.

Let’s remember that the previous agreement between the parties expires next summer and the parties have not agreed on its extension for a long time.
We remind you that Andrei Lunin joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018. For his transfer, the Spaniards paid Lugansk Zara 8.5 million euros. In the beginning, the Ukrainian borrowed many times.
Last season, after a serious injury to Thibaut Courtois, Lunin won the competition from Kepa Arrizabalaga for a place in the goal of the royal club.
Becoming the team’s main goalkeeper in the 2023/24 season, Andrei helped Real win the Champions League and La Liga. In total, he took part in 31 matches in all competitions, where he scored 32 goals and kept 12 clean sheets.
This season, the Ukrainian still hasn’t played a single game for Madrid.
We remind you that earlier the Belgian Thibaut Courtois responded to Lunin’s decision to stay at Real Madrid.
