Chilean midfielder Jordi Thompson from Orenburg admitted on the air of the program Nos Étrangers that he feels completely safe in Russia.
Orenburg announced Thompson’s transfer in late January. The club leased the Chilean midfielder from Colo-Colo with the right to buy and bought out his contract in June.
— My friends and acquaintances often ask me about life in Russia and Orenburg. And I always say that the city is great. Of course, when I arrived, it was a little difficult. It is very funny that my personal trainer Rene, who recently arrived in Orenburg, constantly tells me: “Lock the car, lock the car!” He does not understand how it can end up on the street like this. But in Orenburg, everything is very quiet. That’s right, I have now told you about it and now I will always lock the car. You never know.
But here’s what really caught my attention. In Orenburg, at 8 pm, children are playing quietly in the street and chatting with friends. Parents walk with their children in parks, even when it’s dark. In Latin America, this is simply impossible to imagine. In terms of security, Russia is much calmer. In Chile, they can easily kidnap a child in a playground and then demand a ransom from the parents. That’s why in our country no one dares to go out so late, anything can happen,” Thompson said on the show “Our Foreigners” on the MATCH PREMIER channel.
