The previous place of work of the former coach Veres was Zvyagel, where he replaced Shishchenko in the spring and achieved promotion to a higher class with the team
Ternopil Niva officially announced the appointment Yuri Virta for the position of head coach.
Along with the 50-year-old coach, two of his assistants also came to the club: Nikolay Lapko And Alexander Zotov.
As a footballer, Virt defended the goal of Shakhtar and other Ukrainian clubs. Subsequently, Yuriy coached Veres (2017, 2019 – 2023) and Rukh (one and a half months in the 2018/19 season). As a coach of the team from Rivne, the Lviv native was recognized as the coach of the year in the First League, and also successfully performed in the UPL, repeatedly being recognized as the best coach of the month.
From April to July 2024, Wirth was the head coach of Zvyagel, replacing Sergei Shishchenko, who left for Poliesie. With him at the helm, the team finished the season in third place in the Second League, after which they beat Khust in the play-off matches (1:1, 1:0) and moved up a class. However, after this, Zvyagel lost its status as a professional club and withdrew from the competition.
Let us recall that at the end of the 2023/24 season, Nyva Ternopil head coach Oleksandr Stakhiv officially left the team. He was replaced in June by Yevhen Kalinichenko. Serhiy Zadorozhny became the sports director. The position of goalkeeper coach went to Igor Shukhovtsev.
Niva have earned four points in the first six rounds and are in 6th place in Group A of the 2024/25 First League.
