Birmingham City took three points without any problems
In the first round of the updated main stage Champions League Aston Villa won confidently on the road Young Boys with a score of 3:0.
In the first half, Unai Emery’s team scored two goals. First, Youri Tielemans scored, and then Jacob Ramsey scored his goal. Interestingly, the visitors managed to score a third goal before the break, which was cancelled after a VAR prompt.
Both teams had chances to score after the break, and another Aston Villa goal was disallowed after a video review, but Birmingham still secured a rout through Amadou Onana.
Aston Villa thus took three points from their debut match in the Champions League. In the second round, the Birmingham team will play Bayern on October 2.
Young Boys will play away to Barcelona in their next Champions League match. This meeting will take place on October 1.
