Dynamo made seven substitutions in the game with Vorskla. Shovkovsky explains why

In the Dynamo – Vorskla match, an unusual event occurred: the teams were able to make seven substitutions at once instead of the allowed five.

As the head coach of the Kyiv club explained, the greater number of players on the field allowed the release of new football rules.

Regarding their performance, we were satisfied with the first and second. They are in the starting lineup for the first time. It’s one thing to train with the team, prepare for games, and another thing to play matches. It’s a completely different burden, a different responsibility that leaves a mark on the players’ actions. Overall, I’m happy, but there are definitely things we need to improve and there are things we need to work on to make our game more perfect.

In the first half, Vorskla defended with ten men in very thick doubts, hardly giving us a chance to receive the ball between the lines. Very strict, very aggressive. We are ready for it. I said before the game that now there are moments that must, first of all, fundamentally align the teams before the game begins – this is motivation, commitment to fight, the ability to separate emotions and work for the result of team.

In this regard, I would like to give an example. Maybe you see it, maybe not: how Shaparenko has changed. This is his personality, and I fully understand that he is like that himself. But we managed to get him to direct his emotions just to be more effective for the team and for his individual actions.
