Barcelona thrash Villarreal away in six-goal match

Robert Lewandowski and Rafinha scored doubles

Barcelona defeated on the road Villarreal in the sixth round match Examples — 5:1.

The goal-scoring extravaganza was started by Robert Lewandowski, who scored twice in the first half. Before the break, the hosts managed to get one goal back, scored by Ayoze Perez.

In the second half, Pablo Torre scored the third goal for the blue-garnets. Later, Lewandowski missed a chance to score a hat-trick – the Pole missed a penalty. Before the end of the match, Barcelona scored twice more, with Rafinha scoring twice.

Hans-Dieter Flick’s side remain top of the league, winning six of their six games. Villarreal suffered their first defeat of the season and are fifth with 11 points.

In the next round, Barcelona will host Getafe on September 25. Villarreal will play away against Espanyol on September 26.
