Roma owner Friedkin acquires controlling stake in Everton

The deal to sell a controlling stake in Everton still needs to be approved by several regulators

Owner’s company Dan Friedkin’s Novels The Friedkin Group acquired a controlling stake EvertonA company spokesman said one of The Friedkin Group’s priorities would be, in particular, completing the club’s new stadium.

“We are delighted to have reached an agreement to become the owners of this iconic football club. We are focused on obtaining the necessary permits to complete the transaction. We look forward to bringing stability to the club and sharing our vision for its future, including the completion of Everton’s new stadium at Bramley Moor.”

The deal still needs approval from several regulators, including the Premier League, the Football Association and the Financial Conduct Authority.

American billionaire Dan Friedkin has owned Roma since 2020, for a deal worth €591 million. In 2023, Friedkin’s company acquired the French city of Caen.

Everton have had a poor start to the current season, having earned only one point in five rounds of the Premier League. Let us recall that the Toffees’ colours are defended by Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko.
