Norwegian striker Manchester City Erling Holland will miss the EFL Cup match against “Watford” which will take place on September 24, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Holland will attend the funeral of a family friend. Ivar Eggja, who was best man at Haaland’s father’s wedding, died in early September at the age of 59. The footballer dedicated a post to him on social media.
On Sunday, Haaland scored a goal against Arsenal (2:2). For him, it became Manchester City’s hundredth goal. The 24-year-old striker has scored 73 times in the Premier League, 18 in the Champions League, 8 in the FA Cup and once in the English League Cup.
The Norwegian set a Premier League record by scoring 10 goals in five games at the start of the season.
