Ilya’s winless streak now totals six fights
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko suffered a defeat in the first round of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 tournament in Nonthaburi (Thailand).
At the start of the main draw, 37-year-old Marchenko lost to the “neutral” Aslan Karatsev. The match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes.
In the first set, Ilya gave his opponent two games on his serve and lost 1:6. In the second set, the Ukrainian managed to put up a fight, but lost 4:6.
For Marchenko, this was the first match since mid-July. Ilya’s winless streak now totals six matches.
The first racket of Ukraine Vadim Ursu and Yuri Dzhavakyan, who passed the qualification and will play in the main draw of the ATP Challenger Tour tournament for the first time, will also perform in Thailand.
