The UEFA Referees Committee appointed a team of referees to work on the match in the first round of the main round of the tournament.

This Wednesday, Dynamo will play the opening match in the updated Europa League. The rival of the Kiev team is the Italian Lazio.

According to the “white-blues” website, the UEFA Referees Committee has decided on the judges who will oversee the match.

Teams from the capitals of Ukraine and Italy will be judged by a team of referees led by Anastasios Sidiropoulos from Greece. In the lines he will be assisted by compatriots Polychronis Kostaras and Lazar Dimitriaidis. Greek Angelos Evangelou will also manage the VAR system.

Note that the 45-year-old Sidiropoulos started his career as a football referee in 2009. Since the 2009/10 season he has been working on Greek Super League matches. Since January 1, 2011, Sidiropoulos has been a FIFA referee. Since October 12, 2012, he regularly works in matches between European teams in the qualifying rounds for the World and European Championships.

Sidiropoulos met Dynamo Kyiv only once – he refereed a match involving the Kiev team in 2013, when our team lost to Belgian Genk in the Europa League (0:1).

It should be noted that Anastasios Sidiropoulos also worked on the Germany-Ukraine friendly match in June 2022. Then he and his team donated their fee to the Ukrainian people.

We remind you that the Dynamo – Lazio match will take place on Wednesday, September 25, in Hamburg at the Hamburg Arena stadium. Starts at 22:00 Kyiv time.

Earlier it became known that Dynamo has updated its application for the main round of the Europa League.
