Milan’s San Siro stadium will not host the 2027 Champions League final, Calciofinanza reports, citing a statement from the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
It had already been reported that Milan were interested in hosting the match. A meeting of the UEFA executive committee takes place in Prague on Tuesday.
“As the Milan authorities cannot guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings will not be affected by renovation works during the 2027 Champions League final, it has been decided not to transfer the hosting rights of the match to Milan and to reopen the bidding procedure. A decision is expected in May-June 2025, the publication quotes a UEFA statement.
In the 2024/25 season, the Champions League final match will take place at the Munich Arena and in 2026 the match will take place in Budapest.
