The Brazilian suffered a serious knee injury last fall
Head coach Al-Hilal Jorge Jesus said that the Brazilian striker Neymar will not be able to return to the field until the end of this year.
“Neymar is an important player for Al-Hilal and the league as a whole. However, I cannot give a date for his return. But we will see the situation in January.”
In early September, it was reported that the forward would not return to the field until November. The Brazilian failed medical and fitness tests, which delayed his further recovery for at least another two months.
Neymar suffered a knee injury in October 2023 in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Uruguay. The Brazilian forward was substituted late in the first half and left the pitch in tears on a stretcher.
He was subsequently diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his knee and anterior cruciate ligament injury, ending the Brazilian’s season early.
In the 2023/24 season, Neymar played only 5 matches for Al-Hilal, scoring one goal and making three assists. In 2025, the forward intends to return to Santos.
Al-Hilal started the 2024/25 season by winning the Saudi Arabian Super Cup. In the national championship, Jesus’ team won four out of four matches.
