Yarmolenko and Zinchenko will not receive a call-up to the Ukrainian national team for the October Nations League matches – journalist

The Arsenal defender is recovering from injury

Two experienced Ukrainian players will not be called up for the upcoming blue-yellow matches in League of Nations.

We’re talking about the Arsenal defender Alexandra Zinchenko and Dynamo winger Andrey Yarmolenko. At the same time, Zinchenko is now in the hospital and recovering from the injury.

Yarmolenko played 124 matches (46 goals) for the Ukrainian national team, Zinchenko had nine goals in 68 games. Both players were called up for the first matches of the Nations League and played against Albania and the Czech Republic.

The Ukrainian national team started in the 2024/25 Nations League with two defeats – first, Sergei Rebrov’s team lost to Albania (1:2), and then lost to the Czech Republic (2:3).

In the updated FIFA rankings, Sergei Rebrov’s team moved up one position compared to July, managing to overtake Australia and now occupy 24th place.

The blue-yellows will play two games in October. The match with Georgia will take place on October 11 in Poznan at the Enea Arena stadium. Starts at 20:45 local time (21:45 Kyiv time). The October slot also includes a game against the Czech Republic on October 14.
