Polissya beat Karpaty on the road
Head coach Polesia Imad Ashur commented on the victory over Carpathians in the eighth round Ukrainian Premier League (3:1).
“We are definitely satisfied with the result. But I will never be satisfied with the game. We will analyze this match and find the moments that need to be paid attention to. Weather conditions made adjustments to the plans of both teams. We had to adapt to the rain. In general, you need to play under any conditions.”
“I am very glad that we got the result. I am grateful to the opponent for making this match not a cakewalk. But this is not surprising. We knew who we were going to play against. Karpaty is a strong team.”
“Boris Krushinsky scored a goal and gave an assist on the second goal scored. We saw that we had some problems, plus he received an optional yellow card. The decision arose to make a replacement. He had an impact on the final result of this match. But he needs to improve a lot. This is a normal process for any player. Boris showed good football. He’s great.”
Polesie opened the scoring thanks to Krushinsky’s goal. The Lviv team immediately equalized the score, but the Zhytomyr team again took the lead in the first half. After the break, Alexander Nazarenko scored the third goal for the guests, setting the final score.
Imad Ashur’s team scored 17 points and ranks second in the UPL. In the next round, Polesie will host Vorskla on October 6.
