Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva reached the fourth round of the tournament WTA 1000 V Beijing (China).
Yulia confidently dealt with ex-Russian Elina Avanesyan, representing Armenia. The two-set match lasted an hour and a half.
The Ukrainian lost her serve at the start of the match, but managed to regain the break and completed the first set, winning four games in a row. In the second game, Yulia allowed her opponent to take only one of her serves, confidently bringing the match to victory.
Starodubtseva made it into the main draw of the WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in her career, having successfully qualified. In the first round, Julia defeated Laura Siegemund from Germany. Next, the Ukrainian passed the 37th racket of the world Katerina Sinyakova, winning her highest ranking victory in her career.
Starodubtseva is the only Ukrainian who continues to compete in singles in Beijing. Thanks to reaching the fourth round of the tournament, Yulia will make her debut in the top hundred of the WTA rankings.
