FIFA bans Eto’o from attending Cameroon matches for six months

The functionary was fined for his behavior in the match between the U-20 women’s national teams of Brazil and Cameroon

FIFA Disciplinary Committee imposed a ban on the President of the Cameroon Football Federation (CFF) Samuel Eto’o attend Cameroon national team matches for six months.

The sanctions were imposed in connection with the 1/8 finals of the U-20 Women’s World Cup between Brazil and Cameroon, which took place in Bogota on September 11. Eto’o was found guilty of violating Articles 13 (Offensive conduct and breach of fair play) and 14 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. The ban applies to games involving Cameroon national teams of all categories and groups.

Let us remind you that earlier accusations of corruption were brought against Eto’o. The Cameroonian football legend has been accused of being involved in match-fixing, abuse of power, physical threats, inciting violence and spreading false information in Cameroon.

Eto’o has headed the Cameroonian Football Association since December 2021. In February 2024, the functionary announced his desire to resign after the team’s unsuccessful performance at the African Cup of Nations, but the CFF did not accept his statement.
