The Portuguese legend remembered Jose Dinis Aveiro, who passed away almost 20 years ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who, we remember, helped his team win the second round of the Asian Champions League, spoke about the goal that was special for him.
The Portuguese scored against Qatar’s Al-Rayan and dedicated the goal to his late father Jose Dinis Aveiro, who would have turned 71 the day before.
“Today’s goal has a little different aftertaste… I wish my father was alive, because today is his birthday,” Ronaldo said after the game, as quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Remember that Jose Dinis Aveiro died in 2005 due to liver problems at the age of 53. At that time, 20-year-old Ronaldo played for Manchester United.
