Former Juventus and Italian national team player Camoranesi became the head coach of Karmiotissa from Cyprus

FC Karmiotissa (Cyprus) officially announced an agreement in principle has been reached with the famous former midfielder Mauro Camoranesi. The Italian of Argentine origin will become the head coach of the Cypriot club until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Karmiotissa, in particular, is known for the fact that in the fall of 2022 it was headed for a short time by the ex-mentor of Dynamo Kyiv Alexander Khatskevich.

Camoranesi is 47 years old. He was born in Argentina, but spent almost his entire adult life in Italy. Mauro played for Verona and Juventus, and played 55 matches for the Italian national team. In 2006, Camoranesi, together with the Italian team, won the World Championship, which was held in Germany.

Mauro began his coaching career in Mexico – Coras, Tigre, Cafetaleros. He subsequently moved to Slovenia, where he headed Tabor and Maribor. In the 2023/24 season, Camoranesi worked as head coach of the Maltese Floriana.

Karmiotissa has scored five points in five rounds this season and is in 11th place (out of 14) in the Cyprus Championship.
