At a press conference before the start of the FAVBET Super League 2024/25, coach of the Zaporizhia club Valery Plekhanov said that the main reason for the departure of the Americans was the almost daily shelling of the city by Russian occupiers.

“We are again faced with the fact that we have limited rotation. The main responsibility falls on the shoulders of Ukrainian players. Let us remind you that the matches of the new championship will take place in almost all cities whose clubs are represented in the elite division, except for Krivoy Rog. At the same time, in Zaporozhye, for security reasons, matches will be held without spectators.
Plekhanov’s team will open the championship with a match against Cherkasy Mavpi on October 5.
